Social Studies and History. She grew up in Philadelphia and is now an educator in an urban high schoolin Paterson, New Jersey. She has been an activist for most of her life, working for peace, justice and equality. She has worked for ACORN, New Jersey Peace Action, Strengthen Our Sisters, HRC, NAACP, Greenpeace and Clean Water Action. She is co-founder of Highlands Peace Action, an organization that educates and informs local community on peace and justice issues. Lisa has taught classes on The Sociology of Racism and Ethnicity and The History of Racism. She is presently embarking on setting up monthly diversity workshops for the staff at her high school to open up a forum to discuss racism and discrimination. |
